Calcium is essential to life. When we are ill we are revealing, in part or in whole, calcium disorders. In other words, when we consult a health care practitioner for our ills and pains, the solution is in the realm of calcium. We are constantly engrossed in the subject of calcium in the human body.

So many diseases are of calcium or concerning calcium in the body. Too frequently the word of osteoporosis, or brittle bones, is heard; tests commonly sought by doctors for their elderly or post-menopausal female patients are bone density scans to forewarn the patient of the perilous path ahead when bones loose their density and this assumes loss of strength. The doctor then prescribes certain ‘medicines’ to rebuild or at least slow the bone density loss as the patient proceeds in the maturity of life. But do these drugs work?

While osteoporosis is in the forefront of geriatric medicine, many everyday and daily health issues revolve around the mineral of calcium.

Here is a short list: Osteoporosis, arthritis, rheumatism, joint pains, growth processes in children, tuberculosis, frequent colds and flu, bone pain, thyroid disorders, falling hair, splitting nails, chilblains, cracked skin, constipation; mental functioning: nervousness, dementias, brain-fag, inability for mathematics, and many more named conditions.

Calcium is involved in the appearance of these disorders. Why? Because these disorders of calcium are a metabolic phenomenon. Metabolism is the transformation of substances in the body – a series of chemical reactions in the process of digestion which provides nutrients and energy needed to sustain life. When the metabolism is not optimal we have the above mentioned symptoms. Splitting nails or hail falling out are early signs of calcium deficiency.

So many of the essential functions of the human organism revolve around calcium. Not only in the bones can calcium be found crucial to structure, but in the brain and in the nerves is calcium essential. Its presence, its roles, its metabolism, its transformations, is life.

So many of the workings of calcium and its metabolism (creation and destruction) is the story of human existence and the kingdom of the animal, vegetable and mineral. The profound nature of life cannot ever be so simple and mechanical as a motor vehicle or a computer, however sophisticated and developed they become. The treatment of calcium disorders is not only a matter of food, supplements or drugs. It also needs to be understood in the context of living – how we relate to those around us. The Spirit of Calcium is the story of earthly life. This may well surprise you.

Here is the chapter outline of the Spirit of Calcium:Calcium book cover

Chapter 1
: Osteoporosis and the Calcium factor. This is the discussion of the role of calcium in bone formation and how to overcome the loss of bone density.
Chapter 2: Calcium and its role in human evolution. In our physical bodily structure there are three basic forms, which are the signature of calcium in three forms – calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, and calcium fluoride. Knowing which type you are helps in answering the remedial questions. In other words, one remedy does not fit all. Each is unique.

Chapter 3: The Milk of Human Kindness. One of the most common misconceptions is the value of milk in adults in the treatment of calcium disorders. The importance of mother’s milk for her infant has been generally downgraded by medical science which is eager to offer children formula milks. This has grave consequences. It is hoped this chapter will open the way to understanding what is milk and why it is for the infant.

Chapter 4: Stinging Nettles. An oddly titled chapter indeed but it is in the plant kingdom that we can find solutions to our diseases and nutritional requirements.

Chapter 5: Calcium, disorders and remedies There may be an underlying emotional sensation of ‘Feeling there is no support left in life’. Here is a brief look at this and what solutions there are.

Chapter 6: Suggested remedies and therapies. Here a summary of the remedies and therapies mentioned in the book.

There will be sections within this work which will be challenging – ideas beyond the norm, new concepts or appear far-fetched. Many aspects will challenge the widely held beliefs about food and what’s good for you. Indeed, that is what makes the subject of calcium so fascinating for it is truly about life. And who said that life was an easy matter to master or even to grasp a tiny part of it!

In reading this book will come away with an answer to the next step you need to take in attaining greater health – be it some disorder of the bone, or of the digestion or a common cold, or even more serious condition. It all revolves around calcium. In the book you will learn natural health tips on eating certain foods or a natural remedy for the condition you will to heal. Even to view or thinking differently about the health condition will help you to heal.
